Noosha Tea Warming Party with Dr. Bernhard Müller-Leben

Noosha's first event, featuring a lecture by Dr. Leben at Lync & Co Düsseldorf, was a resounding success. Dr. Bernhard Müller-Leben gave a fascinating presentation from his nutritional medicine perspective, explaining the strong connection between the gut and brain and the importance of stress reduction.

Stress influences 75% of our modern-day illnesses, as physical and psychological stressors affect the hypothalamus and trigger reactions of our sympathetic nervous system. Our hormonal, nervous, and immune systems become unbalanced. Cortisol and adrenaline are released, preparing the body for rapid action. What affects concentration and energy in the short term has long-term consequences for health. Prioritizing stress reduction can therefore contribute to a healthier, more resilient body and mind.

Nutrition, and in particular adaptogens, are alongside yoga and meditation an effective approach that targets both the physiological and psychological aspects of stress.  Omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish, flaxseeds, and walnuts, can help regulate neurotransmitters, thus promoting a calmer state of mind. Complex carbohydrates, such as whole grains, release serotonin and contribute to a better mood. Adaptogens, like ashwagandha, rhodiola rosea, and holy basil, work by regulating the body's stress response and promoting a balanced physiological state. One of the most interesting points Dr. Leben raised was that 90% of communication occurs from the gut to the brain, and only 10% from the brain to the gut. Serotonin, which is partly responsible for our feelings of happiness, is also produced in the gut.

In the end, there were many questions that revealed how each individual struggles with their specific stress and how great the interest is in botanicals and healthy nutrition. Therefore, further noosha events will follow, where Dr. Leben will introduce us to the secrets of adaptogens and nootropics.

By the way, at Lync & Co in Düsseldorf, at Kasernenstraße 13, everyone can de-stress with a cup of adaptogenic tea.  or get a pack to take home.
